Episode 44: An Unrequited Love Affair with America

This week, well, really two weeks ago, Tamu and Mallory discussed Black America’s unrequited love affair with the rest of America. Mallory was also having a tough time dealing with the world that week; Jacob Blake’s shooting left her feeling hopeless. While Tamu was dismayed and truly disgusted by the naturalization stunt the RNC decided to portray on TV, hope was on the horizon because Doc Rivers made her dad decide register to vote for the first time in his life.

Moral to the Story: If Tamu’s dad is pissed off enough to vote, we all should be pissed off enough to vote!

So Tired of Having this be a Moral to the Story: Arrest the police officers who murdered Breonna Taylor!

Flutter: Legolas Learns from his Past Mistakes…Without Mallory

Former love of Mallory’s life, Orlando Bloom is now betrothed to Katy Perry. Those two crazy kids have decided to the take the slow road to marriage by having a long engagement. We discuss whether this is just Hottie Bloom’s ploy to wait for Mallory to run into him at a “Con” and steal his heart or if he and Katy are just doing a super healthy thing by taking their time.

Moral to the Story: Getting married to fix an issue in a relationship won’t work.

Episode 4, Part 2: Mallory’s Poor, Dark Closet

In this week’s episode, Tamu & Mallory dig deep into Mallory’s school-aged treasures and talk about her teenage crushes.

We learn about her love of Heath Ledger, David Bowie, Jeff Goldblum (of course), and Orlando Bloom, a.k.a., Legolas. Turns out, Mr. Bloom held a special place in her heart for a number of years as we discover from all of the assorted Lord of the Rings posters, trading cards, and assorted memorabilia she collected.

Mallory shares her drawings from art high school and, much like Tamu’s journals and poetry, they provide amazing insights about a young lady, who really wanted to be a warrior, who loves dragons, and yearned for the heart of one hot, blonde elf; Legolas.

Moral to the Story: Crushes are fun!
